PCT Filing Requirements

A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to any GCC member Consulate (90 days from filing). (to be used for all subsequent filings for the company).

A duly legalized extract from the Commercial Register or from the Memorandum of Association, if the applicant is a company (90 days from filing). (to be used for all subsequent filings for the company).

A duly legalized deed of assignment, if the applicant is not the inventor (90 days from filing).

English specification and claims along with the drawings.

Arabic translation of the specification, claims and drawings.

Certified copy of the priority document. (90 days from filing).
Information

Priority: The time limit for the filing of a GCC patent application is 12 months from the earliest date of priority (Non-PCT office).

Examination: The Request for examination must be filed once the formal examination has finalized and the invitation for paying substantive examination is issued.

-Annuities: Annuities fees must be paid every year during the first 3 month of the calendar year (from January 1 to March 31) calculated from the filing date. It is still possible to pay the annuity within 3 months after the deadline (April 1 to June 30) with penalty for late payment.
